grammy award

he 52nd Annual Grammy Awards took place Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and was aired live by CBS.

The show was opened with a duet performance by Lady Gaga and Elton John. It was hosted by comedian Stephen Colbert who incidentally also won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album for A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!

Prince and Paris Jackson accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award for their father Michael Jackson who was given a tribute via a 3D movie clip.

Beyonce who led the nominations at ten took home six including Song of the Year for Single Ladies. She set the new record for most awards in a single night for a female artist. Taylor Swift took home four including Album of the Year for Fearless. She became the youngest person and the first country music singer to ever win the top award.

The other two remaining Big Four awards were won by Zac Brown Band as Best New Artist and Use Somebody by Kings of Leon took Record of the Year.
